Base features

The service is based on use of a modular, flexible yet technically specialized software application, designed to allow coverage a variable mix of requirements through activation and configuration of the available features (e.g.: each customer can create its own list of activity reason codes, tracking behavior, movable assets list, etc.). In case new requirements raised which cannot be addressed by the existing features, Traceland would be available to evaluate the opportunity to develop new features on a project basis. Minor or widely usable improvements could be developed by Traceland at its own cost.

The application adopts a relational database (RDBMS) whose key entities are:

  • Activities (that for instance for OkiTracki correspond to shipments, for TrackEat correspond to product lots, etc.) with numerous time/space/mode-related attributes that characterize them
  • Statuses / actions / events etc., freely definable and classifieable by each single customer and whose data can be collected across time and space in different modes. They describe the history of the activities mentioned above
  • The links between activities, helpful to define trees anc chains of activities
  • The operational actors involved on the operational processes tracked (e.g.: the field personnel individuals)
  • The internal or external organizational units to whom the operational actors belong (e.g.: plants, the partners' depots, etc.), or simply referenced by the tracking details (e.g.: the service requestors or recipients)
  • The locations where the latter are based or operate
  • The activity programs assigned to the personnel actively involved in the operational processes and their tracking activities (e.g.: trip plans in the case of OkiTracki, training plans for Track´n´Win users, ..) through wich:
    • Actions for a given activity are planned;
    • They are assigned to individuals;
    • Individuals are instructed about relevant details and are guided through online interactive features in the execution.

Using such data entities the system handles:
  • Data collection in multiple formats and modes, either manual or automated (i.e.: by interfacing other systems of the customer of of its partners) and, from a different standpoint, either "static" or mobile;
  • Web based transactional reporting, e-mail / SMS notifications, statistical reporting, including spreadsheets generation.

Traceland, playing on application terminology and user data such as table entries descriptions, on display/mask options for certain fields and on other parameters that can influence the application function and behavior, creates all the different applications and, for each single application, the variants pertaining to individual customers.

At this point our customers, as well as their partners and the end-customers, can use the application through:
  • Manual or automated entry of all master data (e.g.: sites) or base activity data (e.g.: with OkiTracki for every new shipments the database must be populated with data about sender, recipient, box count and weight, reference code, etc.);
  • Manual or automated entry of activity planning or execution details, leveraging on the multiple channels and modes available, including the mobile features and the features specifically designed to let the external partner companies participate to the data collection tasks
  • Report viewing / notifications reception.

Finally, it must be underlined that:
  • All data, images and multimedia file can be real-time available;
  • Every user can be given acccess to a limited set of features and, within them, to a limited set of data;
  • Every user can operate in his/her own language (currently Italian and English, but there are no limitations in term of languages that, upon need and under explicit agreement, can be added - including those using non Latin alphabets such as Russian, Chinese, ....)
  Italiano  English
